In early May, ICASSP, the world’s largest and most comprehensive science conference focused on signal processing, took place virtually. The conference covers several topic areas critical to how Alexa performs her magic every day, including wakeword technology, automatic speech recognition, and text-to-speech technology, or how Alexa responds to your requests.
Given this, the Twitch show Alexa & Friends invited Manoj Sindhwani, vice president of Alexa Speech, to talk about these key aspects of Alexa’s technology stack, and also to give viewers a sense for how Alexa has matured since he first joined the Alexa team in 2014 as the director of Alexa Language Technologies.
Jeff Blankenburg, host of the live Alexa & Friends program, says: “I’m looking forward to learning from Manoj how the service has scaled over time, and also hoping he can share some insights into the biggest challenges his teams have had to overcome in making Alexa available on more than 100 million Amazon and third-party devices worldwide.”
